Asia’s Grandest Air Spectacle | When American, Russian & Indian jets shared the Air Space

Life often takes us on surprising journeys. Many of us aspire to follow a specific career path, only to discover that destiny has planned an alternate route for us. For me, that dream was aviation. I always aspired to serve in the armed forces, especially the Indian Air Force, but destiny had other plans, leading me into a career in Information Technology.

Yet, no matter how much time has passed, my fascination with aviation remains as strong as ever. The sheer power, precision, and engineering brilliance of fighter jets continue to captivate me. So, when I first learned about Asia’s Largest Air Show, I was beyond excited. And with major global players like the U.S. and Russia participating, my anticipation skyrocketed.

As an aviation enthusiast and a photography geek, few things compare to the thrill of watching cutting-edge fighter jets slice through the skies. The moment I heard that the American F-35 and the Russian Su-57 would be making an appearance at Aero India 2025, I knew I had to be there, no second thoughts!

Without hesitation, I packed my photography gears, hopped on a train from Chennai to Bengaluru, and set my sights on Yelahanka Air Force Station, the epicenter of aviation marvels every two years. Even before reaching my hotel, I could feel the buzz in the air. Thousands of aviation enthusiasts had already gathered at the entry gates, while curious onlookers lined the streets, hoping to catch a glimpse of the action. And, of course, there was the inevitable traffic bottleneck, stretching over 5 km, a testament to the sheer excitement surrounding the event.

At Aero India 2025, all eyes were on two of the world’s most advanced fifth-generation fighter jets, the Russian Sukhoi Su-57 and the American Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II. Making history, this was the first time both stealth-enabled powerhouses shared the stage at India’s premier aviation event, captivating audiences with their breathtaking aerial displays.
